It's worth noting that the World Happiness Report measures a variety of factors to determine a country's happiness ranking, including economic, social, and environmental factors, as well as individual well-being and life satisfaction. While the United States and the United Kingdom may not be in the top 10, they still rank relatively high in the grand scheme of things. And while countries like Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, and Afghanistan are at the bottom of the rankings, it's important to consider the complex political, social, and economic challenges they face that can affect the well-being of their citizens.

The ratings for the 2023 world happiness rankings were calculated using a three-year average from 2020 to 2022 taking into account several factors that contribute to happiness, including GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. It's good to hear that despite the challenges faced by many countries such as the war in Ukraine, and the increase in energy prices and living expenses, there are still positive trends toward happiness and kindness.
